GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 79 percent, barometer 29.76 inches, adjusted altitude 1,753 feet, track temperature 84 degrees.

This is the 218th race for Pat Dakin and the 23rd time he has competed at the Gatornationals. His first race here was in 1973. His number five starting position is his best in his last 24 starts.

This is the first time Dakin and Reed have faced each other in eliminations.

Reed with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Reed with his quickest pass of the weekend to pick up his third career round win. Shawn Reed's MOV: 0.0662 seconds (approximately 29 feet).

Dakin chattered the tires right at the hit and then dropped a cylinder or two.

Pritchett with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. She launched hard and kept it hooked up to make her quickest pass of the weekend for th win.

Haddock was loose right at the hit and made a move toward the wall, the car dropped a cylinder or two and he reeled it back into the groove. Then right in the light the engine let go with a big fireball, he still ran his quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort.

Antron Brown's first race was here in 1998 in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. This is his 385th race. He has been runner-up in Top Fuel three times here including last year. Antron starts the day with 679 round wins and that is 7th best in the pro classes.

Worm is making her second start in her second career race.

Brown with the starting line advantage and chattered the tires and he pedaled it. the car then started mixing up cylinders, but he stayed with to get the win. Brown will give up lane choice to Pritchett in the next round.

Worm was mixing up cylinders right at the hit and the car might of popped, because the chutes deployed just past the 330-foot mark.

Torrence is 2 - 0 against Salinas in prior events.

Torrence with the starting line advantage, but then started to haze the tires and he pedaled it and the car made a quick move toward the centerline. The car took out the half track cones, so his pass is DQ'ed and this will cost him five points.

Salinas launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to ake his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. Salinas gets his first round win of the season and the third of his career.

Clay Millican has been the number one qualifier at four of the last eight races. Terry Totten is the 561st driver to qualify for an NHRA Top Fuel field. This is his 2nd race and his first start.

Millican with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Millican was straight down the groove, it was hitting on all eight and he runs top speed of the event. He will give up lane choice to McMillen in the next round.

Totten is dropping cylinders right at the hit and clicks it off.

Tony Schumacher has won this race 5 times and that's the most for any driver in Top Fuel. He has also been the runner-up four times and is the defending event champion. This is Tony's 1,200th round and only John Force (1,856) and Warren Johnson (1,381) have competed in more rounds. Brittany Force won here in 2016 and that was her first national event win in Top Fuel.

Schumacher is 8 - 6 against Force in prior events.

Schumacher with the starting line advantage and never trailed. Schumacher runs low E.T. of race day and will have lane choice over Reed in the next round. He kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight all the way down the groove.

Force with a great pass, her quickest of the weekend and the third quickest of race day.
