Patterson Racing Cements Position as Top Performance Choice after Recent Merger with Elite

AUGUSTA, Kan. --

The phone calls continue to pour in from around the world following the October announcement that highly respected Patterson Racing Inc. has merged with the back-to-back and reigning Pro Stock champions at Elite Motorsports.

"It's been a wonderful response," principal Todd Patterson said. "I think most people understand the merger and the incredible benefits of our company working hand in hand with the brain trust at Elite. At the same time, there has been some confusion as to the exact details of the merger, so we have spent a good deal of time bringing our customers up to speed.

"To be perfectly clear, business is moving forward as it always has here at our shop in Kansas. Our top priority, as always, is to provide high-powered, reliable performance to Sportsman racers across the country and around the world.

"What we've done is simply add in the expertise of Richard Freeman and his group at Elite to make our various motors even better than they were before. This is truly a win-win situation for everyone that purchases a motor or any other components from us. They will now get the same technology that just carried Erica Enders to one of the most dominating Pro Stock seasons ever."

Freeman was quick to point out the main reason why they formed Patterson-Elite Performance.

"My entire family, Erica and her family, Rick and Rickie Jones, I'm pretty sure everyone that works here comes from a Sportsman background," Freeman said. "When Todd and I started talking about this some time back, we immediately set a goal that we would take the exact same research and development and extensive technology we put into our Pro Stock program into the motors and pieces that Patterson Racing Inc. supplies to its customers.

"Those guys are on top of the Sportsman world. They've powered David Rampy to all of his championships and wins. They've got enough trophies to line every wall of their shop from floor to ceiling, and I'm talking about Wallys, FIA trophies from Europe, and ANDRA trophies from Australia. His motors have won them all.

"But despite being considered the very best in the Sportsman world, they wanted to do even better, and I think that says so much about everyone in that organization. It's an honor for us to be working with them, and I promise you we will push Sportsman performance to levels they've never been before."

Longtime Patterson employees Brian Lewis, Cory Mattson, Eric Finlay, Eldon Clark, and Darren Pocock, who have more than 100 years combined experience, remain in place, and Patterson's 70-year-old father, Allen, who founded the company 36 years ago, will continue to serve as a consultant.

Patterson Elite Performance also will continue to field a car in NHRA's Comp, Super Stock, and Stock classes with the Omaha Track COPO Camaro next season.

"This alliance also will be a big benefit for all of our longtime parts and machining service customers," Patterson said, "because the technical advise and customer service we will continue to provide will be backed by an even greater knowledge base."
