Janis is 2 - 0 against Rahaim in prior events. Janis with the starting line advantage and was loose early, but reeled it in, then had problems and slowed on the top end. Rahaim chased him down just before half track and takes the winner. He is in third place in the point race and this puts the leader on the trailer. Rahaim will have lane choice over Smith in the semifinal.
