E2 ****WINNER**** 0.091 5.914 245.67 0.039 6.203 247.66
 Prior rounds:
E1 (D Walsh Jr ) 0.069 5.918 244.78 (C Satterfiel) 0.032 5.929 252.24
 Qualified: #1 5.845 239.78 #8 5.886 252.57
Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 51 percent, barometer 29.14 inches, adjusted altitude 3,829 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

This is the first time alBalooshi and Coughlin Jr. have faced each other in eliminations. alBalooshi was late and Coughlin had the early lead, but he had to backpedal when the car got sideways early in the run and even the turbo car's big top-end charge could not close the gap.

Khalid alBalooshi's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.018), 330 ft(0.140), 660ft(0.225), 1,000ft(0.239). MOV: 0.2371 seconds (approximately 86 feet).

E2 0.050 6.774 171.93 ****WINNER**** 0.089 6.083 244.65

Whiteley and Smith have each won 1 time against the other in prior events.

Whiteley got a starting line advantage when Smith's car did not launch cleanly, but he gave it back in the first 60 feet and was never a threat after that.

Rickie Smith's incremental margins: 60ft(0.078), 330 ft(0.174), 660ft(0.189), 1,000ft(0.333). MOV: 0.6527 seconds (more than 100 feet).

This is the first time Snavely and Matusek have faced each other in eliminations.

Snavely had a great light, but a slow first 60 feet and Matusek led well past half track. Then Snavely's top-end charge kicked in and he went by for the win, going away with top speed of the meet.

Rick Snavely's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.024), 330 ft(-0.063), 660ft(-0.011), 1,000ft(0.041). MOV: 0.0818 seconds (approximately 30 feet).

This is the first time Biehle and Janis have faced each other in eliminations.

Biehle's car got out very close to the wall and he lifted.
