8 Greg Anderson 13 Jonathan Gray
E1 0.013 6.685 201.58 ****WINNER**** 0.025 6.628 208.84
Qualified: #7 6.611 209.14 #10 6.623 207.78
This is only the second time Anderson and Jonathan Gray have raced each other. The first was in Round 1 at Englishtown this year
and Anderson won that one. This matchup is very important to both drivers' Countdown hopes since Anderson leads Gray by 34 points
after qualifying here and they are both in contention for the final (10th) Countdown position.
A win by Anderson gives him that position. A win by Gray gives him the opportunity to take that spot away, but he also must win in
round 2.Anderson had the starting line advantage, but Gray took the lead before the 330-foot marker and held it the rest of the way. Jonathan Gray's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.003), 330 ft(0.009), 660ft(0.016), 1,000ft(0.022). MOV: 0.0457 seconds (approximately 14 feet). If he can turn on the win light in round 2, he will be the tenth competitor in the
Countdown. If not, Anderson gets the final spot. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
Erica had the better reaction time and the quicker ET to win by a car length. She ran low ET of the round so far.

The other was at the 2013 Winternationals, also in round 1. Nobile won that one. Hartford went red. Nobile made a good run, but won't have lane choice against Jonathan Gray
in the all-important second round. Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed 29 Shane Tucker 11 Shane Gray E1 0.052 6.651 208.71 ****WINNER**** 0.050 6.641 208.88 Qualified: #14 6.637 207.53 #3 6.603 209.17The "Battle of the Shanes." This Tucker's first season and the first time he and Gray have faced each other. It is Tucker's 11th round of competition and he is 4-6 in the prior 10 rounds, but 3-3 in round 1. It is Gray's 200th round of competition, with an overall 96-103 record at prior events, 59-47 in round 1. After an almost dead-even start, Gray slowly edged ahead and stayed there for the win. Shane Gray's incremental margins: 60ft(0.004), 330 ft(0.006), 660ft(0.009), 1,000ft(0.012). MOV: 0.0124 seconds (approximately 4 feet). The TV replay showed a shower of sparks under Gray's car when he lifted at the stripe - looked like a dragging header. Gray lost lane choice to Allen Johnson in round 2 by a thousandth.
