By Jason Murray

EAGLE, Idaho - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series, 43rd annual Pepsi Nightfire Nationals:

6472 Garrett Richards 4 Mike Maggio
E1 0.101 6.222 234.98 ****WINNER**** 0.126 6.006 245.09
 Qualified: #4 6.276 233.22 #1 5.938 249.58
6:31 p.m. Richards gets off the starting line quicker and he was out in front untill 330ft where Maggio goes around him and just drives away from him. Richards' mustang started to drift towards the wall and the driver did a great job of keeping the car off the wall. Maggio will go to the final round.

Garrett Richards' incremental times: 60ft-0.966 sec., 330ft-2.725, 660ft-4.105/181.26 mph, 1,000ft-5.260.
Mike Maggio's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.699, 660ft-3.998/192.55 mph, 1,000ft-5.089.

Mike Maggio's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.058), 330 ft(0.001), 660ft(0.082), 1,000ft(0.146). MOV: 0.1911 seconds (approximately 66 feet).

7112 Rod Burbage 1 Marc Meadors
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.048 6.306 224.83 0.052 8.993 96.77
 Qualified: #3 6.119 241.35 #2 6.114 221.02
Meadors goes out and shakes hard and the car starts moving around he has to lift. Burbage is on a very nice run until right in the lights where the engine expires and all we can see is smoke from his lane. Word from the big end is that we have transmission fluid past the finish-line.

Rod Burbage's incremental times: 60ft-1.012 sec., 330ft-2.756, 660ft-4.098/185.56 mph, 1,000ft-5.294.
Marc Meadors' incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.784, 660ft-4.692/114.85 mph, 1,000ft-6.818.
