POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

Pedregon has a 15-6 record against Tasca in prior events, 6-3 in round two.

Both cars were up in smoke shortly after the launch. Both drivers pedaled. Tasca was not able to get the tires hooked back up. Pedregon let the car settle down, then eased into the throttle and finished the run.

Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-1.096 sec., 330ft-3.103, 660ft-4.282/219.72 mph.

Capps has a career-record of 22-10 against Densham, 6-3 in round two.

Capps had a big holeshot advantage and led almost to the 660-foot marker, then started hazing the tires. Densham reeled him in and pulled away for the win.

Gary Densham's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.057), 330 ft(-0.047), 660ft(0.006). MOV: 0.1354 seconds (approximately 51 feet).

Gray is 6 - 4 against Hagan in prior events, 3 - 2 in round two.

Hagan keeps his grip on the #2 place in the points in a very close drag race. Hagan led early, but Gray steadily closed the gap, coming up short.

Matt Hagan's margins: 60ft(0.031), 330 ft(0.030), 660ft(0.027). MOV: 0.0231 seconds (approximately 11 feet). He will have lane choice against Pedregon in the semifinals.

Force is 15 - 5 against Arend in prior events, 4-2 in round two.

Arend's car made a strange burnout, more tire bite than smoke.

Arend lost traction after 100 feet, Force shook and stated skating around. he pedaled, got very sideways, and pedaled again, letting the car settle down a bit more this time.

Force races Densham in the semifinals, Densham has lane choice.
