Rain Brings Early End To Friday Racing
By Larry Sullivan

BAYTOWN, Texas - 7:04 p.m. Racing is through for today.

The weather radar showed everything going north of the track, about 10 miles away.

Then a small part of the closest rain cell started getting bigger and we are on hold again for rain.

The weather radar now shows a long train of rain cells, going all the way back to San Antonio.

The rain came after three pairs of Pro Modified made their runs, shutting things down before the fourth pair could fire their engines.

It would take about two hours to dry the track (if the rain stopped right now) and the strong front that dominated today's weather forecasts should arrive about then.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and racing will resume at 10 a.m with the rest of the unfinished Pro Modified qualifying session.
