3rd Annual Mopar Max Event Report brought to you by PEAK

This year Cedar Falls Raceway put together a great line up for their yearly Mopar event. Along with
the usual all Mopar brackets they also paired up with The Victory Performance Nostalgia Super Stock
series to run their final point's race at this event. Plus The GLNFCC brought four funny cars along
to put on a show.
The Peak Winner trophy goes to the RoadShow team.
evening was a test & tune and a chance for all of the cars to get a good feel for the track. Saturday
morning greeted everyone with a sunny day. By 10:00 the place was full of great looking Mopars and
the Funny cars were getting ready for their afternoon assault on the Cedar Falls quarter mile.
First round paired the Gold Coast Charger driven by Mark Horvath against the High PSI Arrow driven by
Jim Locsi. At first the Arrow did not want to start so the Horvaths shut off so that the Arrow had
time to fire. Once the Arrow fired up the Charger again came to life.
Both cars did their burnouts but the Arrow was shut off and pushed back. Mark made a hard right off
the line but got the car straighten out by mid track and shut off the timers with a 7.62.
Next pair was the MoparCrazy Challenger driven by Chris Schneider taking on the RoadShow Hemi powered
Camaro, driven by Bill Anderson. The Challenger got off the line first but the Camaro took the lead
and finished with a 7.70 to Chris's 8.01.

Mark's .090. Second round of the funnies came as the afternoon was winding down. First up was the
Arrow taking on the MoparCrazy Challenger. Both cars came out with good burnouts with the Arrow
sounding real strong. The tree came down and the Arrow was gone crossing the finish line with a
Gold Coast Charger
was another sunny day and after several rounds of time runs the show started. The finals in the funny
cars was to pair the two fastest from the previous day which would have been the Gold Coast Charger
taking on the Arrow. During the warm-up something sounded wrong with the Arrow so it was decided that
their day was done.
Chris brought out the Challenger for its last past of the season. During the burnout the car hooked
hard and gave Chris a battle. Chris did make a great straight pass down the track with a 7.87 pass.
final pitted the Road Show Camaro against the Gold Coast Charger. Both cars came out strong and
staged. The Camaro left first but the Charger had him by halftrack, at that point the Charger seemed
to nose over with the Camaro taking the win with a 7.48.
Both cars were battling ignition and fuel issues during the weekend. It appeared that the RoadShow
crew figured out what their gremlin was.
