MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Extreme Pro Stock at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Summer Drags IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Ron Miller Runs 4.180/169.68, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.172/169.70, Was #10
Right Lane: Bradley Waddle Runs 4.160/174.73, Now #8; Best prior run: 4.142/175.02, Was #8

3:08 p.m. Miller appeared to be left of the groove, but ran just slightly slower than his first pass today. Waddle failed to improve.

Left Lane: Brian Gahm Runs 4.153/174.27, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.165/174.89, Was #9
Right Lane: Matt Bertsch Runs 6.670/88.88, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.139/174.25, Was #6

"Brien G" improved slightly from his earlier run - gotta watch out, he may get addicted to that Mopar stuff! Bertsch shook and slowed almost immediately.

Left Lane: Elijah Morton Runs 4.092/174.93, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.101/176.76, Was #1
Right Lane: John Montecalvo Runs 4.127/175.38, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.176/172.35, Was #11

For the second round in a row, Morton posted season-best numbers, improving his hold on the top spot.

Left Lane: Pete Berner Runs 6.218/76.30, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.964/105.65, Was #13
Right Lane: Doug Kirk Runs 4.129/174.87, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.114/174.35, Was #3

Berner chattered the tires hard and shoved in the clutch. Kirk made a nice run, but it was not quite as quick as his first run today.

Left Lane: John Deflorian Jr. Runs 4.137/175.02, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.108/177.60, Was #2
Right Lane: Scott Hintz Runs 6.108/93.27, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.118/175.61, Was #4

Hintz shook and slowed. Nice pass by Deflorian, but not an improvement.

Left Lane: Cary Goforth Runs 4.130/176.24, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.470/133.10, Was #12
Right Lane: John Pluchino Runs 4.127/174.78, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.136/173.67, Was #6

Goforth went right down the groove on this pass and moved up to the top half of the field.

Right Lane: John Konigshofer Runs 4.155/174.87, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.140/174.33, Was #9

Konigshofer made another good run but failed to improve.

Right Lane: Dean Goforth Runs 12.728/61.18, Now #14; Best prior run: 8.772/58.97, Was #14

Goforth had a whole bunch of tire spin on this one and immediately pushed the clutch in.
