Pro Extreme Qualifying Notes, Final Session
By Larry Sullivan

CECIL, Ga. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, Hardee's Georgia Drags VII listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.586/211.06, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.567/212.29, Was #1
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 3.660/206.07, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.673/208.42, Was #3

6:11 p.m. Hossler made a strong final run to back up both ends of his pending record - 3.567 and 212.29. Smith also made a very nice run, his best of the day, and nobody noticed.

Left Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.631/208.42, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.680/206.01, Was #5
Right Lane: Joey Martin Runs 3.698/202.64, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.185/78.56, Was #18

Two more nice runs, D'Aprile moving up to third place with a great run and martin getting the popular "Lowmad" into the field on his last chance of the day.

Tommy D'Aprile's incremental times: 60ft-0.905 sec., 330ft-2.441.
Joey Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.929 sec., 330ft-2.490.

Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.586/211.06, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.567/212.29, Was #1
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 3.660/206.07, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.673/208.42, Was #3

Alex Hossler's incremental times: 60ft-0.919 sec., 330ft-2.414.
Von Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.934 sec., 330ft-2.467.

Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 3.867/202.94, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.673/208.39, Was #5
Right Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 3.693/206.83, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.721/205.79, Was #9

Tindle made his best run of the day, moving into the top half of the field. Snider was on a strong run until there was a POP from his supercharger in the lights.

Left Lane: Mike Neal No Time, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.851/196.27, Was #13
Right Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 3.646/208.81, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.829/203.09, Was #11

Neal chattered the tires and crossed over into the right lane. By then, Stanton was long gone, making his best run of the day to go from the bottom half to fourth.

Bubba Stanton's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.467.

Left Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.573/213.54, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.620/211.76, Was #2
Right Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 3.644/208.07, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.685/205.98, Was #7

Wow! Great run by Scruggs and he has a backup, so he took Hossler's speed record away (but the speed record isn't worth any bonus points). However, his ET gives him a backup (all the way to a 3.537) if he can run quicker than Hossler's 3.567.

Snyder made his best run of the day, moved up to fourth, and, like Smith, nobody noticed.

Left Lane: Danny Lowry Runs 3.946/194.07, Now #15; Best prior run: 3.976/198.90, Was #14
Right Lane: Neal Wantye Runs 3.740/202.97, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.503/78.98, Was #18

Wantye made an awesome run to bump Todd Tutterow from the field. Lowry made his best run of the day, but it wasn't good enough to keep him from losing a spot on the ladder.

Tutterow ha only made two runs, but he is not in the lanes, so the bumping is over.

Left Lane: John Stanley Runs 3.721/206.80, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.810/201.70, Was #12

Just three more cars, all singles.

Stanley made his best run of the day and improved by almost a tenth, moved up just one spot.

Left Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 3.631/210.11, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.697/206.04, Was #9

Nice run by Taylor and he's now third.

Frankie Taylor's incremental times: 60ft-0.933 sec., 330ft-2.457.

Left Lane: Gene Hector Runs 5.972/74.06, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.104/191.40, Was #16

Last car of the day and Hector comes in on the bump spot, which would set him up for a first-round meeting with the #1 qualifier.

Nope. He got out about 100 feet and the car made a sharp left turn. Hector did a good job of driving to avoid the concrete, but he stayed 16th.
