GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 44th annual Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Chris Karamesines No Time, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.778/92.10, Was #22
Right Lane: Pat Dakin Runs 9.415/50.07, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.960/92.47, Was #23

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 1,903 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Karamesines' engine went silent right off the starting line and he coasted to a stop around 200 feet. Dakin was up in smoke early and clicked it off and he will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Tim Cullinan Runs 5.181/137.27, Now #21; Best prior run: 5.416/123.89, Was #20
Right Lane: Stig Neergaard Runs 5.080/145.74, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.055/110.54, Was #21

Cullinan is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicked it off. Neergaard is up in smoke early and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.867/322.19, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.915/311.70, Was #16
Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 3.906/307.16, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.747/156.44, Was #19

Force with her quickest pass of the weekend to get off the bump and move up to the number 12 spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.192, 660ft-3.110/277.49 mph. Pruett with her quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. She is on the bump spot and there are still a couple more drivers that could bump her out. Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-0.889 sec., 330ft-2.211, 660ft-3.127/275.39 mph.

Left Lane: T.J. Zizzo Runs 3.927/301.47, Now #17; Best prior run: 3.909/309.27, Was #17
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 6.287/100.94, Now #18; Best prior run: 4.002/272.78, Was #18

McMillen is up in smoke right at the hit and he will not qualify for his sponsor's race. Zizzo makes a full pass, but he will not get in the show and Pruett will race on Sunday.

Left Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 18.102/39.40, Now #15; Best prior run: 3.885/318.24, Was #15
Right Lane: Sidnei Frigo No Time, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.877/314.75, Was #14

Frigo leaves before the tree is activated and will not get a time. Dixon starts to lose traction right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 3.862/321.04, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.870/322.34, Was #13
Right Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 3.860/321.73, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.839/319.75, Was #9

These two were side-by-side all the way down the track. No help here for Vandergriff...Bob Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.858 sec., 330ft-2.185, 660ft-3.103/278.81 mph. alBalooshi will move up the ladder a couple spots. Khalid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.852 sec., 330ft-2.184, 660ft-3.105/277.54 mph.

Left Lane: David Grubnic Runs 3.848/317.27, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.862/318.69, Was #12
Right Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 3.847/319.07, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.837/320.74, Was #8

Another great side-by-side drag race. No help here for Bernstein and he will not improve. Brandon Bernstein's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.171, 660ft-3.089/278.63 mph. Grubnic with his quickest pass of the weekend and move up the ladder one spot. David Grubnic's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.166, 660ft-3.082/276.86 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.865/314.97, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.842/319.75, Was #10
Right Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 3.906/312.78, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.832/320.28, Was #7

This is a preview of a round one match up...Torrence with the quicker pass this time. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.175, 660ft-3.094/276.07 mph.
Morgan Lucas' incremental times: 60ft-0.864 sec., 330ft-2.197, 660ft-3.129/272.34 mph.

Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.844/321.35, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.821/322.65, Was #6
Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.836/318.69, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.819/323.89, Was #5

This is another great side-by-side drag race as these two are the two quickest passes of the round. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.173, 660ft-3.083/277.37 mph.
Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.155, 660ft-3.074/276.52 mph.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.854/287.72, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.812/323.27, Was #3
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.787/324.20, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.812/321.88, Was #4

Brown launched hard and keep it hooked up and blast to the number one spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.147, 660ft-3.039/284.45 mph. After the finish line Brown's chutes never blossomed until right before the sand trap. He did get it stopped before the sand. Millican with another good pass, but will not improve. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.855 sec., 330ft-2.171, 660ft-3.071/280.89 mph.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.858/319.07, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.802/324.59, Was #3
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.779/326.32, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.801/325.85, Was #2

Kalitta takes back the number one spot with a great pass and big top end speed. He is straight down the groove. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.840 sec., 330ft-2.143, 660ft-3.038/285.29 mph. This is Kalitta's second No.1 qualifying spot this year and 33rd of his career. Langdon with a nice pass, but will not improve. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.180, 660ft-3.096/278.29 mph.
