Officials from the American Drag Racing League announced today a multi-year marketing partnership with Jeffers Pro Cars. In addition to posting $36,000 in contingency, Jeffers Pro Cars will pay an unprecedented $50,000 to the first one of their customers to run at 3.499 or quicker in ADRL Pro Extreme competition.

"Drag Racing has always been about raising the performance bar and breaking barriers," said ADRL President Kenny Nowling. "The history of our sport is full of significant performances, not the least of which being drag racing legend Bill Kuhlmann's barrier-breaking pass where he became the first driver over 200 mph in a doorslammer.

"Even though that was a hugely significant accomplishment, Kuhlmann got nothing more than qualifying money for his effort."

Now there is yet another barrier to be broken and that is who will be the first driver to cover an eighth mile in less than 3.5 seconds. This time whoever breaks that barrier is going to be paid $50,000 from Jeffers Pro Cars in House Springs, Missouri. It is,the largest prize offered in the history of drag racing for setting a single performance record.

There is just one requirement. In order to collect, the car must have been built by Jeffers Pro Cars. "Over the last nine years the ADRL has established itself as the preeminent eighth-mile drag racing series on the planet," said Jeffers Pro Cars President Larry Jeffers. "We are excited to announce this long term partnership and can't wait to hand one of our customers $50,000!"
