JOLIET, Ill.-- The complete Route 66 Raceway 15th Anniversary event schedule was released today, poised to deliver yet another season of super-charged, heart-pounding racing. Celebrated events like Test & Tunes, ET Bracket Races, the Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning Burndown at Sundown!, Nitto NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing, five Team Demolition Derby's, the Traxxas TORC Series, Route 66 Classic and Downright Diesels join the O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals to form the complete 2013 lineup.

"We saw a terrific year of racing at Route 66 Raceway in 2012, with an exciting mix of new events to accompany longstanding fan favorites," said Scott Paddock, president of Route 66 Raceway. "As we begin our 15th Anniversary season in 2013, we look forward to what is sure to be a year filled with celebration and unparalleled racing action, both on the drag strip and at the dirt track."

The season opens in April with the first of 15 Test & Tunes on April 13 and the first of nine ET Bracket races on April 28, providing local competitors with 24 opportunities to enter the Stadium of Drag Racing. The Junior Dragsters get their first crack at the drag strip on May 18, in the first of five competitions for the season.

Bone-crushing demolition derby action begins on May 18 with the first of five Team Demolition Derby's at Route 66 Raceway's Dirt Oval. Purchase your tickets early to witness the devastating collisions, as all five Demolition Derby's featured sell-out crowds in 2012. Later this summer, the Traxxas TORC Series makes its return to the Dirt Oval on July 19-20 for the fastest, most punishing short course, off-road racing series under the sun.

Taking place under the lights on Saturday, June 9, The Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning Burndown at Sundown! features fire-breathing jet cars being propelled to speeds approaching 300 miles per hour. The Burndown at Sundown! serves as a precursor for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries, June 27-30.

The Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing showcases the NMRA and NMCA, July 11-14. On top of the monumental street legal drag racing, the weekend features a car show, swap meet, manufacturer's midway and much more.

On August 17, the Route 66 Classic returns to pay homage to early drag racing and hot rod culture. Featuring Nostalgia match racing including funny cars, gassers and pro stocks and a Show 'n Shine, the Route 66 Classic is a quarter-mile blast down memory lane.

Downright Diesels roars back to Route 66 on September 21, welcoming diesel vehicles of all shapes and sizes. If it has a diesel engine, it belongs in this race. From high stakes "outlaw" competition to "run what you brung" Fun Runs, drivers of any drag racing experience level can participate.

To close the season, the Route 66 Raceway Swap Meet will return for its fifth year, inviting buyers and sellers from all over the Midwest to exchange items and display their cars in a Show 'n Shine.
