MOHNTON, Pa. -- Even though Maple Grove Raceway is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012, the track continues to move forward with new events.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, The Grove will unveil its new Stock/Super Stock Shootout. It is a four-race series featuring the racers of the East Coast Stock/Super Stock Association.

There will be a race on Saturday and Sunday where drivers will accumulate points and a season champion will be crowned after the third and fourth races on Aug. 11 and 12, respectively.

The Shootout will be part of a busy weekend at Maple Grove as it gets ready to host the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series presented by Penske Truck Leasing over Memorial Day Weekend.

This weekend's card starts on Friday, May 18, with another round of the popular Auto Locator Grudge Racing. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing from 5 to 10. Admission is $25 for towed entries, $20 for drive-up entries, $10 for spectators while children 12-and-under are free with paid adult.

On Saturday Maple Grove's local racers will return for the second edition of the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail.

Lucas Oil Series racers will be on hand Saturday and Sunday for the Super Circuit Shootout. Classes running over the weekend also include the Mid Atlantic Super Gas and Mid Atlantic Super Comp series. The Naturally Aspirated Shootout, Drag Radial and AMI will run Sunday only.

Maple Grove's Junior Dragsters will race for points on Sunday.

Also on Sunday, County Corvette of West Chester, Pa., will once again sponsor a charity race for Ronald McDonald House.

Gates will open both days at 8 a.m. with time trials at 9 and eliminations to follow after two time shots. Spectators are $15 with children 12-and-under free with a paid adult.
