Pro Stock Motorcycle Round 3 Eliminations
By Larry Sullivan

POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 45th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
202 Junior Pippin 36 Douglas Horne

3:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 28.98 inches, adjusted altitude 2,485 feet, track temperature 87 degrees.

THis is the first time these two have faced each other and neither has ever won a national event. Pippin has been to one prior final round, Horne has been in two of them.

Horne led this wire to wire and won easily, going to his third final round.

Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed----Bike#-Rider-(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
4 Andrew Hines 1 Eddie Krawiec
E3 -0.010 6.968 191.62 ****WINNER**** 0.027 6.953 192.80
 Prior rounds:
E2 (H Arana ) -0.004 7.044 192.69 (J Underdahl ) 0.037 6.959 192.60
E1 (M Phillips ) 0.018 6.977 192.82 (S Johnson ) 0.010 6.950 194.91
 Qualified: #9 6.986 192.33 #4 6.959 193.68
Hines came in with a 7-6 record against teammate Krawiec and a 1-2 record in semifinal rounds, but the key item here was Krawiec's championship hopes. He needed to run at least a 6.918 to have a backup for a possible national ET record.

Hines went red and Krawiec made a good run, but he came up short of the ET required to back up a 6.850 and Hector Arana is the 2009 Full Throttle Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. Krawiec faces Horne for the event title and Horne has lane choice.
