CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.232/228.31, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.242/226.58, Was #4
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.315/226.73, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.387/224.02, Was #17

Current weather conditions: 73 degrees, 46 percent relative humidity, the barometer 30.10 inches, with a track temperature of 102 degrees under sunny skies.

Smith with a nice looking pass to improve, but will stay fourth on the ladder.

Left Lane: Rick Stivers Runs 6.302/216.41, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.303/223.36, Was #12
Right Lane: Al Billes Runs 9.457/113.75, Now #22; Best prior run: 9.593/110.84, Was #22

Billes with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. Stivers with a puff of smoke as he crossed the finish line.

Left Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.413/218.55, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.388/219.08, Was #18
Right Lane: Bill Hill Runs 14.211/79.88, Now #23; Best prior run: 9.706/94.75, Was #23

Hill shook and made a quick move toward the centerline and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mike Stawicki Runs 7.988/119.31, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.260/226.70, Was #6
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.269/223.39, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.324/223.17, Was #14

Stawicki shook and was out of the groove. Ashley with a nice looking pass to get in the show and that bumped out Mitch Stott.

Left Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.437/217.98, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.383/220.01, Was #17
Right Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.387/217.00, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.331/219.65, Was #15

Patterson got out of the groove and close to the wall.

Right Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.458/223.17, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.356/220.37, Was #16

No help here for Critchley here.

Right Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.561/216.90, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.590/214.55, Was #20

Barklage with his best pass of the event, but i still way off pace.

Right Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 6.440/218.44, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.595/213.67, Was #21

McGinnis with his best pass of the weekend to move up the ladder a couple spots.

Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.226/224.40, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.276/222.80, Was #11

Smith with a great looking pass to move into the number two spot. That will bump out Ashley and put McAmis on the bubble.
