Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Final Session

CONCORD, N.C. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Carolinas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.792/205.88, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.993/132.41, Was #26
Right Lane: Bob Benza Runs 13.798/63.48, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.877/202.45, Was #24

Benza with problems right off the starting line and coasted on through the 1320. Krisher spun hard and he will not get into the show.

Left Lane: John Gaydosh Jr Runs 7.278/190.97, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.937/199.17, Was #26
Right Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.763/205.32, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.738/204.94, Was #21

Gaydosh spun hard and he will not improve. No help for Hammonds and he will not get into the show.

Left Lane: Jim Cunningham Runs 6.883/201.04, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.857/200.71, Was #24
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.729/205.79, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.717/205.54, Was #18

Jones will not qualifying for only the second time this year.

Left Lane: Max Naylor Runs 6.748/204.91, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.747/205.44, Was #22
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.727/205.98, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.717/206.57, Was #17

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.516/138.54, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.723/205.85, Was #20
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.762/204.45, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.714/205.51, Was #15

Morgan with a lot tire spin right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 6.735/205.26, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.718/205.72, Was #19
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.730/205.91, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.712/205.16, Was #14

Gray is the last one with a chance to bump in, and he doesn't to the 16 cars that will race tomorrow is set. Now we will race to see where they start eliminations.

Left Lane: Vinnie Deceglie Runs 6.719/206.16, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.715/205.69, Was #16
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 11.275/93.35, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.711/205.82, Was #13

Gaines with problems right off the starting line and coast on through the 1320.

Connolly with a little wiggle right off the starting line. And this will be a preview of round one match up.

Mansfield will qualifying for his first race in his second attempt.
