Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #1

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals presented by Castrol listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.884/201.55, Now #2
Right Lane: Justin Humphreys Runs 6.839/204.76, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 67 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 28.23 inches, adjusted altitude 1,950 feet, track temperature 83 degrees.

Rivera made a quick move toward the centerline and rode it all the way down the 1320.


Left Lane: Tony Rizzo Runs 6.742/204.60, Now #1
Right Lane: Ben Watson Runs 6.744/205.26, Now #2

These two were glued together all the way down the track.

Left Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.697/206.20, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.748/206.04, Now #4

Enders with a 0.980 second 60-foot time.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.728/205.07, Now #2
Right Lane: Dwayne Rice Runs 6.848/203.61, Now #7



Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.704/206.35, Now #2
Right Lane: Max Naylor Runs 6.719/206.67, Now #3

WJ goes to the number two spot. Warren Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.800, 660ft-4.310/163.16mph, 1,000ft-5.607

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.691/206.29, Now #1
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.696/206.89, Now #2

These two go to the top of the list with a couple nice looking passes. Richie Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.796, 660ft-4.300/163.77mph, 1,000ft-5.595

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.695/206.20, Now #2
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.716/207.34, Now #6

Yates with a nice looking pass, straight down the groove. Jim Yates' incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.304/163.43mph, 1,000ft-5.599

Left Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.699/206.29, Now #5
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.705/207.18, Now #7



Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.741/204.91, Now #12
Right Lane: Roger Brogdon Runs 6.697/207.46, Now #4

This was a nice looking pass for Brogdon to get into the top half of the show. Roger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.807, 660ft-4.311/163.65mph, 1,000ft-5.604

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.707/205.85, Now #9
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 15.133/55.02, Now #20

Jeggie with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. Edwards with a 0.980 second 60-foot time.

Left Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.679/207.15, Now #2
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.677/207.78, Now #1

Connolly did the burnout and then had some problems to get to back up. Finally he gets it to back up. This was a great drag race with these two going to the number one and two spots. Line with the track speed record. Dave Connolly's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.799, 660ft-4.298/164.37mph, 1,000ft-5.587
Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.294/164.09mph, 1,000ft-5.585

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.730/204.32, Now #16
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.667/208.39, Now #1

Anderson with a great pass as he goes to the number one spot with a track E.T. and speed record. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.989 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.288/164.37mph, 1,000ft-5.577
