POMONA, Calif. - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 42nd annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

Beckman becomes the 40th different driver that Force faced in a Funny Car final round. Beckman was late again and that was all the advantage the new ?Champ needed to take the event win. About the only thing that makes the loss less painful is that Beckman now owns both ends of the national record. Force had the record at 4.665 but Beckman lowered it in the final and had earlier runs that backed it.
