LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 8.541/111.54, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.365/172.81, Was #21
Right Lane: Clarence Markham Runs 7.422/177.56, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.388/180.31, Was #22

3:12 p.m. Cohen has problems late in the run and clicks it off early. Markham slows from his earlier run and will not be racing tomorrow.

Left Lane: Freddie Camarena No Time, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.234/184.07, Was #20
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.405/177.60, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.228/183.24, Was #19

Camarena stages, the lights come down, and his bike never moves. Berry has a trouble free run but doesn't make the field.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.297/180.55, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.156/183.97, Was #14
Right Lane: Scott Lewis Runs 7.196/175.18, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.201/184.85, Was #18

Lewis makes his quickesrt run of the weekend but fails to make the show. Stoffer doesn't improve but is already in the field.

Left Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.273/181.11, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.152/184.83, Was #13
Right Lane: Tom Bradford Runs 7.161/187.70, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.178/185.97, Was #17

Bradford makes a great pass here and gets in the show in the 15th spot. No help for Rivas.

Phillips gets bumped out, Andreano is on the bump.

Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.171/187.23, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.151/188.10, Was #12
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.197/187.11, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.169/187.21, Was #17

Phillips makes a decent pass but fails to get back in the show.

Left Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 7.218/183.62, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.147/185.74, Was #11
Right Lane: Marco Andreano Runs 7.239/182.40, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.166/183.69, Was #16

No help for either rider.

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 14.578/51.99, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.137/184.52, Was #9
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.267/181.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.147/186.36, Was #10

Tonglet gets about 300 feet out and the engine goes silent.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.134/185.43, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.130/184.30, Was #7
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.295/176.97, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.132/183.17, Was #8

Brown makes the quickest pass of the session so far but doesn't improve. Ellis backs off the throttle late in the run.

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.124/188.94, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.117/189.23, Was #6
Right Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.202/181.13, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.113/184.67, Was #5

Treble makes an impressive pass, the quickest of the round so far. No help for Guidera.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.169/183.59, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.107/187.23, Was #3
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.213/179.83, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.107/183.19, Was #4

Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.110/187.00, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.102/187.13, Was #2

Hines makes a strong run but can't get around Gann to take the top spot. Gann elected not to make a pass this round. Gann qualifies number one for the fifth time in his career.
