The new Lucas Oil champion appears to be ready for the season finale...

Left Lane: Ross Wilson Runs 8.358/160.48/-0.572, Now #3 C/SMA Index: 8.93
Right Lane: David Sumek Runs 6.685/203.09/-0.505, Now #6 AA/AM Index: 7.19

Sumek's blown methanol altered made a smooth pass, right down the groove. Wilson's car hiked the front wheels way up on the launch, then made a very quick pass.

Left Lane: Doug Lambeck Runs 8.448/157.95/-0.642, Now #1 D/SMA Index: 9.09
Right Lane: Bo Butner III Runs 8.642/136.34/-0.558, Now #5 D/SM Index: 9.20

Lambeck laid down his claim to the #1 spot with a very smooth, straight pass.

Left Lane: Jim Cowan Runs 9.019/150.33/0.609, Now #16 B/EA Index: 8.41
Right Lane: Jirka Kaplan Runs 7.298/165.21/-0.452, Now #10 BB/AM Index: 7.75

Kaplan's blown methanol altered looked like it was on a very quick run well beyond half track, then it nosed over, only 165 mph at the line after running 153 at half track.

Left Lane: Tony Stephenson Runs 8.222/163.45/-0.528, Now #7 B/EA Index: 8.75
Right Lane: Jeff Lane Runs 8.089/153.11/-0.511, Now #8 B/SR Index: 8.60

Right Lane: Alan Freese Runs 7.871/172.54/-0.479, Now #12 D/AA Index: 8.35

Ellis slowed early in the run.

Left Lane: Dave Barcelon Runs 8.133/165.46/-0.597, Now #2 G/A Index: 8.73
Right Lane: Tom Huggins Runs 7.201/192.30/-0.539, Now #8 B/A Index: 7.74

Left Lane: Todd Patterson Runs 7.999/163.31/-0.601, Now #2 B/SR Index: 8.60
Right Lane: Jacklyn Gebhardt Runs 6.696/200.71/-0.564, Now #7 A/ED Index: 7.26

Patterson's roadster made a hard left-right move on the launch. Doesn't appear to have hurt the run much, however.

Left Lane: Jeff Gillette Runs 7.040/187.86/-0.440, Now #19 B/ED Index: 7.48
Right Lane: Al Ackerman Runs 8.129/161.73/-0.591, Now #4 F/D Index: 8.72

Right Lane: David Ebbert Runs 18.713/39.81/11.603, Now #28 A/D Index: 7.11

Ebbert's car shook hard and slowed immediately, coasting through. Deceglie made a nice run after some pretty heavy tires shake of his own.

Left Lane: John Mihovetz Runs 6.911/213.30/-0.479, Now #19 AA/AT Index: 7.39
Right Lane: Scott McClay Runs 7.514/175.73/-0.426, Now #22 C/ED Index: 7.94

Mihovetz' car shook and spit out a few small pieces of debris on the launch, so the starting line crew shut things down to some housekeeping before firing the next pair.

Left Lane: Lee Zane Runs 9.152/143.83/-0.618, Now #2 L/AA Index: 9.77
Right Lane: Randy Jones Runs 8.690/156.84/-0.510, Now #16 D/SM Index: 9.20

Zane's car is not at its best when viewed from the rear, the small rear tires tucked in close to each other, under the bodywork, but it gets the job done very nicely.

Left Lane: Mike Smith Runs 8.510/144.09/-0.500, Now #21 G/AA Index: 9.01
Right Lane: Dean Carter Runs 6.986/188.78/-0.554, Now #13 A/ND Index: 7.54

There is a bump spot, it's way over the index... after these two ran, Jim Cowan was on the bump spot at 0.609 over.

Right Lane: Jeff Lion Runs 8.233/165.54/-0.497, Now #25 F/A Index: 8.73

Last car. 39 cars went down the track, Jake Crimmins is on the bump spot at -0.413.
