Wed, 9 Oct 2002, 04:31 PM Schedule Change Due to Wet Grounds

ENNIS, Texas -- The schedule for the 17th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec has been changed due to wet pit areas. Heavy rains yesterday made already saturated pit areas inaccessible, so NHRA has decided to only park Super Street, Stock, and Super Stock today. They will qualify tomorrow and run eliminations down to quarterfinals. They will then go to off grounds parking area so Competition Eliminator, Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car, Pro Mod and Pro Stock can pit. Friday's schedule will consist of Comp and Alcohol qualifying and the regular schedule for Pro qualifying. Weather permitting and as the grounds dry out Super Gas and Super Comp will be parked and raced on Saturday down to the quarterfinals.
