ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 17th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.357/222.71, Now #3; No Prior Run

6:24 PM The current temperature is 70 degrees, the humidity is 62 percent, the barometer is 30.05 and the track temp is 87 degrees.

Patterson gets a little out of shape, the back end of the car swaying back and forth, but he hangs on and makes a good run to get in the third spot for now.

Left Lane: Robert Smith Runs 7.032/181.48, Now #12; Best prior run: 10.873/79.99, Was #17
Right Lane: Michael Faucher Runs 8.389/112.31, Now #16; Best prior run: 10.736/80.69, Was #16

Faucher gets out of the groove and drifts toward the wall. He gets dangerously close and finally backs off.

Left Lane: Randy Hagerty Runs 20.434/28.49, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.676/207.99, Was #11
Right Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.483/218.02, Now #9; Best prior run: 9.321/96.51, Was #17

Hagerty hits the throttle, makes a violent move toward the center-line and has to abort the run. Torkelson makes a good pass but just misses making the show.

Left Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.439/220.58, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.629/214.64, Was #11
Right Lane: Annette Summer Runs 6.436/217.65, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.538/154.40, Was #16

A couple of good looking runs, they both get in the show for now.

Left Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 6.461/217.86, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.501/218.02, Was #12
Right Lane: Bill Kuhlmann Runs 6.933/168.95, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.334/134.54, Was #16

McGinnis improves on his earlier pass but still doesn't get in the show.

Left Lane: Billy Harper Runs 6.342/222.82, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.481/188.52, Was #11
Right Lane: Chuck Nuytten Runs 6.652/203.61, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.135/191.53, Was #16

Harper makes a great run, just a little out of the groove early on, and he gets deep into the field in the third spot. Nuytten makes a big improvement but still isn't close.

Left Lane: Andy Neyer Runs 12.118/70.43, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.455/222.44, Was #9
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.383/222.44, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.464/222.93, Was #11

Neyer hits the throttle, the back end starts to come around and he has to abort the run. Ashley makes a good pass and gets in at the sixth spot for now. The bump is now Annette Summer with a 6.436.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.354/221.13, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.367/220.42, Was #5
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.331/221.89, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.417/219.51, Was #7

Smith makes another clean pass, right down the groove, and he jumps into the third spot. Critchley improves and stays in the fifth spot.

Left Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.239/224.77, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.303/222.99, Was #2
Right Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 6.214/228.83, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.261/228.71, Was #1

A great side-by-side. Both had 1.01 sixty-foot times and they were dead even at half-track. Stott started pulling away at that point and will stay in the top spot.
