LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Second annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Jerry Jankanish Runs 7.589/178.87, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.622/173.96, Was #27

1:05 PM The temperature is 54 degrees, the humidity is 74% and the barometer is 29.82 and falling.

Right Lane: David Feazell Runs 7.546/180.62, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.554/175.21, Was #25

Feazell was to the left of the groove for most of the pass.

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.596/176.84, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.657/173.03, Was #28
Right Lane: Brian DeLong No Time, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.528/183.82, Was #24

DeLong was pushed back after leaving a little fluid on the starting line. Harris improved over his earlier time but it was not close to the current bump time of 7.435 seconds.

Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.451/175.98, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.478/177.81, Was #20
Right Lane: Sam Hurwitz Runs 7.376/183.72, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.507/177.42, Was #22

Hurwitz bumps his way into the number seven position for now.

Left Lane: Lloyd Straus Runs 7.665/173.85, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.499/181.40, Was #22
Right Lane: GT Tonglet No Time, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.476/176.56, Was #21

Tonglet's bike was out of shape before he shifted into second gear. He was off the throttle at about 200 feet, the bike coming to a halt just past half track.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 10.233/82.81, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.408/181.42, Was #14
Right Lane: Jay Matthews Runs 10.564/79.17, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.473/182.65, Was #20

Both riders were off the throttle at half track, the reason not apparent from here.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.397/180.09, Was #11
Right Lane: Fred Camarena Runs 7.376/184.35, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.450/182.70, Was #18

Stoffer's bike almost pitched her off of it on the hit. She lost her grip on the left side handle bar and had a heck of a time getting the front wheel to stop wobbling.

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis No Time, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.435/173.16, Was #18
Right Lane: John Smith Runs 7.366/186.20, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.392/184.57, Was #10

DeSantis left before the tree was activated. Smith improves, moves into the number seven position for now.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.400/180.45, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.434/184.37, Was #17
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.396/187.05, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.343/181.91, Was #6

No problems for either rider as Phillips bumps his way into the field for now.
