Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from final, round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Great Lakes Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Cheyne Phillips Runs 26.096/24.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Greg Hunter Runs 5.231/277.61, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 79 percent, barometer 30.27 inches, adjusted altitude 1,327 feet.

Phillips is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Hunter making his season debut, he is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Left Lane: Jeff Chatterson Runs 5.248/274.89, Now #2
Right Lane: Kirk Wolf Runs 5.282/271.25, Now #3

Chatterson is making his season debut and he kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot

Wolf is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the season.

Left Lane: John Paul Gutierrez Runs 5.334/268.34, Now #5
Right Lane: Nick Spiegel Runs 5.224/274.73, Now #1

Gutierrez is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.

Spiegel kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. He makes his career quickest pass. Nick Spiegel's incremental times: 60ft-0.916 sec., 330ft-2.326, 660ft-3.446/221.46 mph, 1,000ft-4.406.

Left Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 14.785/86.64, Now #7
Right Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 5.544/235.23, Now #6

Dreher is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Crampton started to lose traction right at the hit and pedals it. He gets it to hook up to go to the number six spot.

Left Lane: Mitch Kalitta Runs 12.815/57.18, Now #8
Right Lane: Corey Michalek Runs 5.288/268.66, Now #5

Kalitta lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Michalek is straight down the groove with his quickest pass this season.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 5.327/264.55, Now #6
Right Lane: Anthony Troyer Runs 12.664/54.93, Now #9

Sampey got it to hook up and was straight down the groove to go to the number six spot.

Troyer is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 8.590/161.58, Now #10
Right Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.202/277.09, Now #1

Fricke started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Cowie kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Joey Severance Runs 5.334/223.77, Now #10
Right Lane: Jamie Noonan Runs 5.285/275.74, Now #6

Severance with a good pass early, but banged it in the lights.

Noonan is straight down the groove with a clean pass.
