Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #2

INDIANAPOLIS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Anthony Troyer Runs 42.690/29.37, Now #17; Best prior run: 57.498/34.52, Was #16
Right Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 12.753/63.34, Now #15; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 93 degrees, relative humidity 53 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 4,101 feet.

Troyer is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Cowie is up in smoke and pedaled it a couple times, but couldn't get it to hook up before he clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.471/253.85, Now #5; Best prior run: 11.056/90.28, Was #14
Right Lane: John Paul Gutierrez Runs 12.375/107.75, Now #15; Best prior run: 14.859/82.09, Was #16

Fricke kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove.

Gutierrez is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mitch Kalitta Runs 5.400/263.77, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.856/125.47, Was #14
Right Lane: Sarah Allen Runs 16.973/39.58, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.461/237.80, Was #13

Kalitta kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove to go to the number four spot.

Allen started to lose traction and pedaled one time before she clicked it off.

Left Lane: Corey Michalek Runs 5.594/265.95, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.695/258.37, Was #12
Right Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 5.615/264.75, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.761/261.88, Was #13

Michalek is straight down the groove and moves up the ladder one spot.

Dreher with a clean pass and he moves up the ladder one spot.

Left Lane: John Ausherman Runs 5.608/257.53, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.631/256.16, Was #13
Right Lane: Megan Smith Runs 5.665/251.67, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.483/269.13, Was #8

Ausherman kept it hooked up and moves up the ladder one spot.

smith with a clean pass, but will not improve.

Right Lane: Shaunda Blinzler Runs 5.434/271.84, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.481/269.19, Was #7

Noonan launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot.

Blinzler with a good clean pass, her quickest pass today. She will stay in the number seven spot.

Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 5.612/252.24, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.563/257.97, Was #10
Right Lane: TJ Tindle Runs 5.365/272.06, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.397/272.72, Was #4

Sampey with a clean pass, but will not improve.

Tindle was straight down the groove, hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. TJ Tindle's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.499, 660ft-3.610/225.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.550.

Crampton kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight. He makes the quickest pass of the session. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.972 sec., 330ft-2.456, 660ft-3.567/224.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.518.

Johnson launched hard and was straight down the groove to go to the number two spot. Melanie Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.448, 660ft-3.572/222.69 mph, 1,000ft-4.527.
