Top Alcohol Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Final Session

POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.602/256.21, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.98 inches, adjusted altitude 2,560 feet.

Gasparrelli is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Left Lane: Stan Sipos Runs 6.064/162.16, Now #3
Right Lane: Bret Williamson Runs 5.653/255.05, Now #2

Sipos started to mix up cylinders and then banged it on the top end.

Williamson is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Ray Martin Runs 13.281/85.61, Now #5
Right Lane: Christine Foster Runs 5.515/263.56, Now #1

Martin with problems right at the hit.

Foster launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Christine Foster's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.476, 660ft-3.652/210.57 mph, 1,000ft-4.661.

Left Lane: Chris Foster Runs 5.614/262.54, Now #4
Right Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.474/265.90, Now #1

Foster is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.

Westerfield kept it hitting and hooked up to go to the number one spot. Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.456, 660ft-3.629/211.26 mph, 1,000ft-4.628.

Left Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.515/255.19, Now #3
Right Lane: Madison Gordon Runs 5.772/256.31, Now #7

Whiteley launched hard and was straight down the groove to the number three spot. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.968 sec., 330ft-2.489, 660ft-3.666/210.83 mph, 1,000ft-4.662.

Gordon with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Brian Hough No Time, Now #11
Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 6.282/164.93, Now #9

Hough broke right at the hit and came to a stop on the track around the 100-foot mark.

Bellemeur started to get loose and was out of the groove before he clicked it off.
