LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.732/248.66, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.769/248.16, Was #5

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 27 percent, barometer 30.07 inches, adjusted altitude 3,323 feet.

Jackson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Steve Jackson's incremental times: 60ft-0.952 sec., 330ft-2.536, 660ft-3.764/199.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.829.

Left Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.832/245.40, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.041/220.15, Was #19
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 5.785/247.29, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.824/247.34, Was #16

Januik with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show.

King kept it hooked up and makes his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number 11 spot. Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.538, 660ft-3.799/196.24 mph, 1,000ft-4.876.

Right Lane: Doug Winters Runs 5.844/243.81, Now #19; Best prior run: 5.906/241.32, Was #19

Wright is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He goes to the number 17 spot.

Frigo appears to have used up an engine early as he is trailing smoke from about 330 feet on. The track is clean.

Shelton slowed on the top end.

This is a good side-by-side drag race.

Menholt with a little wiggle early, but got it to settle down and goes to the number four spot.

Gray launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. JR Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.938 sec., 330ft-2.527, 660ft-3.763/198.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.829.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 5.758/248.16, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.776/247.38, Was #11
Right Lane: Lyle Barnett Runs 5.754/248.84, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.780/249.03, Was #13

Rivenbark is straight down thew groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to move into the top half of the show. Kevin Rivenbark's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.531, 660ft-3.775/198.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.849.

Barnett kept it hooked up and makes his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number seven spot. Lyle Barnett's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.536, 660ft-3.779/197.10 mph, 1,000ft-4.850.

Left Lane: Rashid alBalooshi Runs 5.727/248.61, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.774/246.93, Was #12
Right Lane: Justin Bond Runs 5.733/244.65, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.763/244.47, Was #10

alBalooshi launched hard and kept it hooked up to tie Gray for the quickest pass of the weekend, but will give up the position based on speed. Rashid alBalooshi's incremental times: 60ft-0.928 sec., 330ft-2.509, 660ft-3.749/197.25 mph, 1,000ft-4.821.

bond is stright down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend, he goes to the number five spot. Justin Bond's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.508, 660ft-3.742/197.54 mph, 1,000ft-4.817.

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 8.301/109.11, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.761/246.17, Was #11
Right Lane: Mike Stavrinos Runs 5.728/251.20, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.772/249.86, Was #12

Janis shook and clicked it off.

Stavrinos kept it hooked up and makes his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Billy Banaka Runs 5.716/250.46, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.738/249.03, Was #8
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.724/251.11, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.741/250.41, Was #9

Banaka launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Billy Banaka's incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.513, 660ft-3.749/206.61 mph, 1,000ft-4.815.

Castellana is straight down the groove to go to the number two spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.527, 660ft-3.763/197.86 mph, 1,000ft-4.828.
