Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Kelly Harper Runs 4.684/162.14, Now #7; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 29.89 inches, adjusted altitude 3,958 feet.

Harper is driving the Paton Family car and is making his first appearance on the tour this season and only his second career race.

Harper starts to lose traction and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.711/337.24, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.705/120.02, Was #11
Right Lane: Rob Passey Runs 4.278/227.46, Now #8; No Prior Run

Kalitta launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.839 sec., 330ft-2.132, 660ft-2.996/290.13 mph.

Passey launched with a wheelstand and then pitched a blower belt on the top end

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 4.434/181.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.248/130.39, Was #12
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.750/333.16, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.040/111.87, Was #13

Schumacher starts to haze the tires just past half track and clicked it off.

Brown starts to make a move out of the groove, but Brown reels it in and goes to the number two spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.145, 660ft-3.022/288.52 mph.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.715/336.57, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.922/145.14, Was #13
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.771/331.28, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.879/269.29, Was #7

Langdon launched hard and was straight down the groove to the number two spot. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.119, 660ft-2.995/288.46 mph.

Millican kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to move up the ladder a couple spots.

Left Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 3.741/330.72, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.690/160.73, Was #13
Right Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 3.795/326.95, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.801/322.34, Was #7

Stewart kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number three spot. Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.142, 660ft-3.013/286.38 mph.

Mercier with another good looking pass, his quickest pass of the day.

Left Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.737/329.10, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.881/307.30, Was #10
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.744/333.41, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.796/325.22, Was #8

This is a good looking side-by-side drag race.

Reed kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove to the number three spot. Shawn Reed's incremental times: 60ft-0.842 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-3.005/290.38 mph.

Ashley had it hitting on all eight all the way down the track and moves up the ladder three spots.

Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.815/320.58, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.811/329.26, Was #10
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.697/338.85, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.752/337.92, Was #7

Hart with another good clean pass, but will not improve.

Force launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go back to the number one spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.837 sec., 330ft-2.125, 660ft-2.986/297.42 mph.
