Top Fuel Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 5.248/130.39, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 82 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 29.91 inches, adjusted altitude 4,002 feet.

Schumacher is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 3.801/322.34, Now #1
Right Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.811/329.26, Now #2

Mercier launched hard and kept it hooked up with a good looking pass. Dan Mercier's incremental times: 60ft-0.861 sec., 330ft-2.177, 660ft-3.060/287.84 mph.

Hart is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 6.040/111.87, Now #5
Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.881/307.30, Now #3

Brown loses traction early and clicked it off.

Reed is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.879/269.29, Now #3
Right Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 4.690/160.73, Now #5

Millican kept it hooked up all the way down the track to go to the number three spot.

Stewart started to haze the tires around half tack and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.752/337.92, Now #1
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.922/145.14, Now #7

Force launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.155, 660ft-3.033/291.82 mph.

Langdon drives into tire smoke and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.796/325.22, Now #2
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 5.705/120.02, Now #10

Ashley is straight down the groove and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.855 sec., 330ft-2.180, 660ft-3.063/289.20 mph.

Kalitta starts to lose traction and clicked it off.
