ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 40th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 5.704/186.04, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 30.13 inches, adjusted altitude 2,791 feet.

Brounkowski with a good pass early, but the pipes go wet just past half track and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Alan Bradshaw Runs 6.012/225.38, Now #3
Right Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.424/271.99, Now #1

Bradshaw is dropping cylinders right at the hit and clicked it off.

Nataas with clean pass, it appeared to be a soft set up.

Left Lane: James Stevens Runs 6.861/169.79, Now #5
Right Lane: Chris Demke Runs 6.129/140.88, Now #4

Stevens lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Demke started to drop cylinders and clicked it off.

Dreher lost traction right at the hit.

Ausherman with a good clean pass.

This was a good side-by-side drag race.

Bradford kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Jon Bradford's incremental times: 60ft-0.907 sec., 330ft-2.347, 660ft-3.475/217.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.440.
