POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 59th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Alex Miladinovich Runs 9.196/76.93, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 58 degrees, relative humidity 55 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 1,541 feet.

After a three hour rain delay we are back.

Miladinovich with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Steven Densham Runs 3.983/313.66, Now #1
Right Lane: Jason Rupert Runs 8.804/73.05, Now #2

Densham is straight down the groove with good clean pass.

Rupert with tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jeff Diehl Runs 4.934/160.58, Now #3
Right Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 4.041/305.84, Now #2

Diehl starts hazing the tires and dropping the cylinders before he clicked it off.

Haddock started to drop cylinders around half track nd stayed with it.

Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 3.875/328.46, Now #1
Right Lane: Buddy Hull Runs 8.320/78.61, Now #5

Lee launched hard and kept it hooked up to make a great pass to start the weekend. Paul Lee's incremental times: 60ft-0.876 sec., 330ft-2.226, 660ft-3.139/284.45 mph.

Hull shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Dave Richards Runs 7.543/85.09, Now #6
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 3.948/292.65, Now #2

Richards lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

DeJoria was a great pass early and then dropped a cylinder or two. The car push out of the groove and over by the wall. Alexis DeJoria's incremental times: 60ft-0.877 sec., 330ft-2.257, 660ft-3.173/283.19 mph.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 3.875/324.59, Now #2
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 3.953/279.85, Now #4

Pedregon launched hard and kept it hooked up. Pedregon banged the blower right in the lights, but still goes to the number two spot. Cruz Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.875 sec., 330ft-2.233, 660ft-3.131/285.65 mph.

Green is loose early, and is out of the groove on the top end. He is over by the wall before he clicks it off.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 8.155/85.97, Now #10
Right Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 3.903/308.92, Now #3

Todd lost traction early and clicked it off.

Wilkerson launched hard and had a big speed at the 1/8th mile. He goes to the number three spot. Daniel Wilkerson's incremental times: 60ft-0.878 sec., 330ft-2.246, 660ft-3.154/285.35 mph.

Left Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.870/336.40, Now #1
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 7.235/90.10, Now #10

Alexander launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his career quickest and fastest pass. He goes to the top of the list. Blake Alexander's incremental times: 60ft-0.865 sec., 330ft-2.234, 660ft-3.135/287.47 mph.

Tasca III shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 8.037/81.31, Now #13

Hagan kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number four spot. Matt Hagan's incremental times: 60ft-0.874 sec., 330ft-2.245, 660ft-3.157/284.03 mph.

Capps with tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 3.828/334.82, Now #1
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.842/331.94, Now #2

This is a great side-by-side drag race to wrap up round one qualifying.

Beckman launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Jack Beckman's incremental times: 60ft-0.859 sec., 330ft-2.205, 660ft-3.099/288.70 mph.

Prock is right there with Beckman to go to the number two spot with a great pass. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.868 sec., 330ft-2.215, 660ft-3.111/287.72 mph.
