Whiteley and McCosh have each won 2 times against the other in prior events. This is the third time this year Whiteley and McCosh have met in a round 2 race. Each has won once. Whiteley with a slight starting line advantage, but McCosh had the lead as they went by the Christmas tree and never trailed from there on for the win. He will have lane choice over gordon in the semifinal.
