Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Nick Januik No Time, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.976/242.19, Was #16
Right Lane: Dmitry Samorukov Runs 5.866/242.84, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.484/157.26, Was #18

Weather conditions: air temperature 60 degrees, relative humidity 39 percent, barometer 29.74 inches, adjusted altitude 2,865 feet.

Januik with problems on the burnout and is pushed off the starting line.

Samorukov kept it hooked up and was straight down the groove to get in the show. He bumps out Januik and he is now the bump spot.

Left Lane: Ken Quartuccio Runs 5.777/243.72, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.787/243.46, Was #11
Right Lane: Mason Wright Runs 5.853/242.76, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.856/245.27, Was #15

Quartuccio kept it hooked up and makes his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder a coupled spots. Ken Quartuccio's incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.509, 660ft-3.771/195.34 mph, 1,000ft-4.856.

Wright is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will stay in the number 15 spot.

Left Lane: Billy Banaka Runs 5.804/245.40, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.784/245.90, Was #11
Right Lane: Stan Shelton Runs 7.852/110.74, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.835/243.55, Was #14

Banaka with a good pass, but will not improve.

Shelton got loose and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.756/248.75, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.776/247.11, Was #8
Right Lane: Mike Thielen No Time, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.803/246.84, Was #12

Frigo launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.535, 660ft-3.779/196.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.850.

Thielen with problems on the starting line and is pushed off the starting line.

Left Lane: JR Gray Runs 5.799/246.39, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.775/247.93, Was #8
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.784/246.57, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.781/245.49, Was #10

Gray is straight down the groove, but will not improve.

alBalooshi is just a few ticks off his quickest pass this weekend.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.755/248.48, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.768/249.07, Was #6
Right Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 8.829/99.88, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.770/247.34, Was #7

Castellana kept it hooked up and is straight down the groove to the number three spot. Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.932 sec., 330ft-2.530, 660ft-3.777/196.70 mph, 1,000ft-4.849.

Rivenbark shook early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Kris Thorne Runs 5.719/249.90, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.758/248.75, Was #5
Right Lane: Jordan Lazic Runs 5.779/247.47, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.765/247.52, Was #6

Thorne launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot. Kris Thorne's incremental times: 60ft-0.935 sec., 330ft-2.523, 660ft-3.766/199.29 mph, 1,000ft-4.820.

Lazic with another good pass, but will not improve. Jordan Lazic's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.546, 660ft-3.793/196.42 mph, 1,000ft-4.870.

Left Lane: Justin Bond Runs 5.758/244.87, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.739/246.30, Was #3
Right Lane: Mike Janis Runs 5.732/245.36, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.708/246.89, Was #1

bond with another good looking pass, but will not improve. Justin Bond's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.510, 660ft-3.761/196.73 mph, 1,000ft-4.841.

Janis is straight down the groove with the second quickest pass of the session. He will hold on to the number one spot. This is his fifth career number one and first this season.
