LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 9.735/64.72, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.726/332.26, Was #5

Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 29 percent, barometer 29.75 inches, adjusted altitude 3,199 feet.

Ashley with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.676/332.51, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.706/333.74, Was #2
Right Lane: Lex Joon Runs 3.979/268.28, Now #14; Best prior run: 3.902/268.01, Was #14

Langdon launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of event. He stays in the number two spot. Shawn Langdon's incremental times: 60ft-0.833 sec., 330ft-2.102, 660ft-2.956/296.76 mph.

Joon started dropping cylinders around half track and the engine let go right in the lights with a big fireball.

Left Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.889/270.59, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.315/194.72, Was #17
Right Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.801/328.46, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.852/326.08, Was #12

Palmer launched hard and was skating around in the middle of the track, but stayed with it to get in the show. Scott Palmer's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.172, 660ft-3.072/279.90 mph.

Hart kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not move on the ladder. Josh Hart's incremental times: 60ft-0.860 sec., 330ft-2.180, 660ft-3.065/288.33 mph.

Left Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 3.738/331.94, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.781/327.98, Was #10
Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.660/334.98, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.675/336.74, Was #1

Stewart kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves into the top half of the show. Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.136, 660ft-3.008/290.63 mph.

Force kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight all the way down the track to make the quickest pass of the event. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.834 sec., 330ft-2.094, 660ft-2.944/298.40 mph.

Left Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 3.865/316.45, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.943/253.99, Was #16
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.729/303.43, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.738/331.53, Was #9

salinas had a hole or two out early, but stayed with it to get off the bump spot. she goes to the number 13 spot.

Millican is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves into the top half of the show to the number seven spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.122, 660ft-2.980/292.71 mph.

Left Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.741/324.83, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.751/324.75, Was #10
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 5.104/133.34, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.714/333.74, Was #4

Reed with a good, clean pass. Reed with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number 10 spot. Shawn Reed's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-3.004/289.38 mph.

torrence drives into tire smoke and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 4.192/210.01, Now #18; Best prior run: 4.680/161.81, Was #19
Right Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.743/330.80, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.787/328.70, Was #11

Schumacher drives into tire smoke and clicks it off. He will go into the final session, not qualified.

Torrence is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend, but he will stay in the number 11 spot.

Right Lane: Ida Zetterstrom Runs 3.786/324.12, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.607/166.48, Was #19

Zetterstrom was straight down the groove and then right in the lights it popped. she gets in the show into the number 12 spot. Ida Zetterstrom's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.164, 660ft-3.047/288.58 mph.

Left Lane: Travis Shumake Runs 3.724/323.12, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.897/309.20, Was #16
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.735/323.27, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.735/321.65, Was #8

Shumake launched hard and kept it hooked up to make his career quickest and fastest pass. He gets off the bump spot up to the number five spot. Travis Shumake's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.123, 660ft-2.992/291.76 mph.

Antron is straight down the groove and matches his E.T. from yesterday. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.852 sec., 330ft-2.133, 660ft-2.995/292.39 mph.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 5.129/138.02, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.707/330.96, Was #3
Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.749/327.27, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.728/324.12, Was #7

Kalitta is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Massey is straight down the groove, but will not improve. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.850 sec., 330ft-2.143, 660ft-3.012/289.57 mph.
