LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mike Thielen Runs 5.803/246.84, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.904/243.55, Was #14
Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 6.083/212.83, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.976/242.19, Was #16

Weather conditions: air temperature 61 degrees, relative humidity 31 percent, barometer 29.80 inches, adjusted altitude 2,855 feet.

Thielen kept it hooked up and make his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder four spots.

Januik appears to have used up and engine on the top end.

Left Lane: Stan Shelton Runs 8.518/102.91, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.835/243.55, Was #13
Right Lane: Ken Quartuccio Runs 5.787/243.46, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.834/243.99, Was #11

Shelton make a quick move toward the wall and lifts.

Quartuccio picks up a spot with his quickest pass of the weekend.

Left Lane: Dmitry Samorukov Runs 7.419/130.90, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.484/157.26, Was #18
Right Lane: Billy Banaka Runs 5.802/244.38, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.784/245.90, Was #9

Samorukov shook early and clicked it off. He is down to one shot to get in the show.

Banaka with a good pass, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 5.770/247.34, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.948/245.40, Was #15
Right Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.776/247.11, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.780/246.62, Was #7

Rivenbark launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number five spot. Kevin Rivenbark's incremental times: 60ft-0.946 sec., 330ft-2.537, 660ft-3.790/198.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.861.

Frigo with his quickest pass of the weekend. Sidnei Frigo's incremental times: 60ft-0.951 sec., 330ft-2.547, 660ft-3.791/197.05 mph, 1,000ft-4.867.

Left Lane: Mason Wright Runs 5.881/235.84, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.856/245.27, Was #15
Right Lane: JR Gray Runs 7.231/135.16, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.775/247.93, Was #7

Wright was on a good looking pass early and then started using up his engine on the top end. Mason Wright was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5 points.

Gray shook early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 5.781/245.49, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.782/246.30, Was #9
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 9.950/88.35, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.768/249.07, Was #4

alBalooshi kept it hooked up and is a tick quicker than his quickest pass the this weekend.

Castellana with tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jordan Lazic Runs 5.765/247.52, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.774/248.89, Was #6
Right Lane: Kris Thorne Runs 10.671/80.27, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.758/248.75, Was #3

Lazic was straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder a couple spots. Jordan Lazic's incremental times: 60ft-0.950 sec., 330ft-2.530, 660ft-3.785/197.05 mph, 1,000ft-4.857.

Thorne with severe tire shake early and clicked it off

Left Lane: Mike Janis Runs 8.580/105.76, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.708/246.89, Was #1
Right Lane: Justin Bond Runs 5.762/244.69, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.739/246.30, Was #2

Janis shook early and clicked it off. He holds on to the number one spot. He qualifies number one for the fifth time in his career.
