LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 4.485/175.89, Now #2
Right Lane: Will Smith Runs 4.123/292.14, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 29.90 inches, adjusted altitude 3,169 feet, track temperature 99 degrees.

Massey started to loose traction and clicked it off early.

Smith double-stepped it, and clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Lex Joon Runs 3.902/268.01, Now #1
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 4.315/194.72, Now #3

Joon was on a great pass early and started hazing the tires on the top end and clicked it off early. Lex Joon's incremental times: 60ft-0.868 sec., 330ft-2.190, 660ft-3.082/283.01 mph.

Palmer started to lose traction just before half track and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Ida Zetterstrom Runs 6.471/92.84, Now #6
Right Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 3.943/253.99, Now #2

Zetterstrom started to smoke the tires and clicked it off.

Salinas with a good pass early and clicked it off early.

Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.751/324.75, Now #1

Hart was straight down the groove to the number two spot.

Reed launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Shawn Reed's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.136, 660ft-3.012/289.01 mph.

Right Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 3.781/327.98, Now #2

Torrence kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number three spot. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.844 sec., 330ft-2.168, 660ft-3.056/288.83 mph.

Stewart with the candles lit all the way down the track to the number two spot. Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.847 sec., 330ft-2.158, 660ft-3.044/286.74 mph.

Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 4.670/164.81, Now #11

Force launched hard and kept it hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.831 sec., 330ft-2.102, 660ft-2.961/297.29 mph.

Kalitta starts to lose traction early and clicks it off.
