GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 55th annual NHRA Gatornationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 65 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 30.02 inches, adjusted altitude 642 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.
Brown is 3 - 1 against Hart in prior events.
Hart with the starting line advantage, but started to lose traction. The car is sideways, he pedals it a couple times. It appears he is feathering the throttle rest the way down track.

Brown is straight down the groove and matches his E.T. from round one.

Ashley is 9 - 5 against Langdon in prior events.
Ashley with the starting line advantage, but loses traction early and clicks it off.

Langdon launched hard and kept it hooked up for the win. He will have lane choice over Brown in the semifinal.

Torrence is 4 - 2 against Salinas in prior events.
Salinas with the starting line advantage, but starts to chatter the tires and clicks off.

Torrence is on a good looking pass until around half track until around half track. The car nosed over and then the engine let go. Torrence holds on for the win. the word from the top end is there is oil on the track. Billy Torrence was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5 points.

Kalitta with the starting line advantage, but starts to smoke the tires and pedals it one time before he clicks it off.

Torrence is straight down the groove with the quickest pass of the round. He will have lane choice over his father in the semifinal.
