POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 58th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 6.983/192.17, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.007/191.40, Was #15
Right Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.520/182.95, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.070/186.77, Was #17

3:48 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 2,451 feet.

Herrera is number one at 6.721 and Angie Smith is on the bump spot at 7.027.

A career best ET and speed for Hale on a clean pass to stay #15.

Bonham's engine bogs off the line he will not bump into the show.

Blaine Hale's incremental times: 60ft-1.103 sec., 330ft-2.923, 660ft-4.466/158.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.819.
Lance Bonham's incremental times: 60ft-1.376 sec., 330ft-3.310, 660ft-4.894/155.11 mph, 1,000ft-6.294.


Left Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 6.996/183.92, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.952/193.96, Was #13
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.944/166.91, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.027/156.52, Was #16

Smith runs further down the track this time and gets off of the current bump into #13.

That bumps Bostick's clean pass back a spot.

Chris Bostick's incremental times: 60ft-1.074 sec., 330ft-2.899, 660ft-4.451/157.58 mph, 1,000ft-5.815.
Angie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.088 sec., 330ft-2.868, 660ft-4.365/163.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.676.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.827/197.36, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.825/198.47, Was #10
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.929/195.19, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.941/194.38, Was #12

Blaine Hale is on the bump spot at 6.983 and can't be bumped.

Two clean passed for the conditions and they stay in their current spots.

John Hall's incremental times: 60ft-1.060 sec., 330ft-2.855, 660ft-4.370/161.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.694.
Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.086 sec., 330ft-2.902, 660ft-4.441/159.06 mph, 1,000ft-5.781.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.831/195.28, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.797/197.25, Was #8
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.791/199.20, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.826/199.32, Was #11

Tonglet is away first and powers to the finish line to improve four spots to #4.

That bumps Savoie out of the top eight.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.776/199.55, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.793/197.28, Was #8
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 17.079/35.53, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.810/198.32, Was #10

Smith is still struggling and sits up on his Suzuki early.

Strong pass for Ingwersen for a career best ET and speed. He takes over the #6 spot.

Marc Ingwersen's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.832, 660ft-4.342/162.43 mph, 1,000ft-5.655.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.835/196.79, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.765/197.59, Was #5
Right Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.927/195.76, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.784/197.77, Was #7

They run together down the track, but neither rider will improve.

Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.068 sec., 330ft-2.863, 660ft-4.376/162.00 mph, 1,000ft-5.699.
Jianna Evaristo's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.896, 660ft-4.441/159.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.783.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.734/201.94, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.742/201.52, Was #3

Strong run, best of the weekend for Krawiec, but he will stay #3.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.058 sec., 330ft-2.831, 660ft-4.324/164.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.623.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.749/201.16, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.729/201.28, Was #2
Right Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.661/203.80, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.721/200.59, Was #1

Herrera ties the sixth quickest run in PSB history and seals the deal on the 2023 Championship for Herrera. That's a ET and speed track record too.

Arana makes a strong pass and will stay #2.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.072 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.334/164.13 mph, 1,000ft-5.636.
Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.027 sec., 330ft-2.785, 660ft-4.270/165.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.560.

4:04 p.m. Blaine Hale is on the bump spot at 6.983.

Kelly Clontz has been released from the local hospital and will be at the track tomorrow. Great news!
