POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 58th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.487/263.20, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.485/265.22, Was #6
Right Lane: Ulf Leanders Runs 10.395/113.09, Now #12; Best prior run: 10.152/99.21, Was #12

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 14 percent, barometer 29.98 inches, adjusted altitude 2,205 feet.

Whiteley is straight down the groove with another good looking pass. He doesn't improve... Jim Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.439, 660ft-3.620/209.56 mph, 1,000ft-4.631.

Leanders is up smoke early and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.461/266.32, Now #5; Best prior run: 9.819/94.20, Was #11

This is a great side-by-side drag race.

Westerfield kept it hooked up for another good looking pass, he actually gets bumped back a spot by Bellemeur. Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.950 sec., 330ft-2.455, 660ft-3.623/212.49 mph, 1,000ft-4.620.

Bellemeur kept it hitting on all eight all the way down the track to go to the number five spot. Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.446, 660ft-3.618/211.69 mph, 1,000ft-4.617.

Left Lane: Chris Marshall Runs 5.425/265.59, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.452/264.65, Was #4
Right Lane: Hunter Jones Runs 5.587/261.47, Now #10; Best prior run: 9.083/94.31, Was #11

Marshall launched hard and kept it hitting on all way down the track to go to the number one spot. Chris Marshall's incremental times: 60ft-0.906 sec., 330ft-2.402, 660ft-3.577/211.89 mph, 1,000ft-4.578.

Jones is straight down the groove to move up the ladders.

Left Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.480/266.16, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.448/268.81, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Doushgounian Runs 5.570/264.39, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.365/164.27, Was #11

Whiteley is straight down the groove with a good clean pass, she will not improve. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.956 sec., 330ft-2.472, 660ft-3.641/212.19 mph, 1,000ft-4.635.

Doushgounian with a clean pass to move up the ladder a couple spots.

Left Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 9.174/96.58, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.448/269.83, Was #3
Right Lane: Ray Martin Runs 5.596/259.06, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.580/260.41, Was #10

Gordon with severe tire shake an clicks it off.

Martin with a clean pass, but he will not improve.

Left Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.480/247.16, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.435/269.24, Was #2
Right Lane: Will Martin Runs 5.688/260.71, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.555/261.32, Was #8

Hough kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight, but will not get the number one spot back. Brian Hough's incremental times: 60ft-0.938 sec., 330ft-2.448, 660ft-3.614/212.53 mph, 1,000ft-4.609.

Martin with a clean pass, but he will not improve.
