POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 58th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Katie Justice Runs 7.072/188.94, Now #2
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.862/198.17, Now #1

12:00 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 30.02 inches, adjusted altitude 2,011 feet.

First run of the season for Justice and it's a little off pace.

Clean and straight for Tonglet.

LE Tonglet's incremental times: 60ft-1.080 sec., 330ft-2.896, 660ft-4.411/161.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.732.


Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.007/191.40, Now #2
Right Lane: Lance Bonham Runs 7.392/178.57, Now #4

Bonham drifts off towards the wall down track and has to back off.

Hale did'nt seem to have any problems.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.797/197.25, Now #1

Single pass for Savoie.

He leaves well and runs strong to the lights.

Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.055 sec., 330ft-2.839, 660ft-4.346/162.63 mph, 1,000ft-5.664.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 6.867/197.13, Now #3
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.857/123.80, Now #7

Oehler's bike starts to steadily pull towards the wall down track and he has to sit up and coast.

Nice strong pass for Hall.John Hall's incremental times: 60ft-1.082 sec., 330ft-2.884, 660ft-4.404/161.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.731.

Left Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 6.952/193.96, Now #5
Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.905/196.30, Now #4

Bostick is still running the "Evil Knievel" theme on his leathers and bike. He makes a clean pass into the current field.

Clontz goes into the current top four, but not likely to stay there for long.

Chris Bostick's incremental times: 60ft-1.105 sec., 330ft-2.933, 660ft-4.468/160.16 mph, 1,000ft-5.806.
Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.112 sec., 330ft-2.935, 660ft-4.446/162.04 mph, 1,000ft-5.768.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.882/194.94, Now #4

Johnson gets a single qualifying pass and power right into the top four.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.793/197.28, Now #2
Right Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.784/197.71, Now #1

Two strong passes right to the top of the field.

Season best ET for both riders.

Marc Ingwersen's incremental times: 60ft-1.046 sec., 330ft-2.831, 660ft-4.343/162.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.661.
Jianna Evaristo's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.341/163.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.654.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.729/201.28, Now #1
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.828/198.38, Now #5

POW! Arana runs the first two hundred mile per hour here and takes over the top spot.

Clean pass for Smith into the current #5 spot.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.056 sec., 330ft-2.829, 660ft-4.319/164.67 mph, 1,000ft-5.617.
Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.074 sec., 330ft-2.866, 660ft-4.381/161.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.699.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.754/201.22, Now #2
Right Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 7.143/143.35, Now #14

Herrera will unofficially be the 2023 Champion by taking the green, but it won't be official until after the end of the round.

OUCH! There is smoke from the engine in the lights from the Suzuki and he slow to just the #14 spot. The drama continues!

Krawiec powers right on down the track into the #2 spot with another 200 plus MPH pass.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.067 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.337/164.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.640.
Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.044 sec., 330ft-2.806, 660ft-4.294/164.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.692.

12:18 p.m. Hector Arana is number one at 6.729 and Ryan Oehler is on the bump spot at 7.857.
