POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 58th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Will Martin Runs 5.555/261.32, Now #2
Right Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.464/267.11, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 15 percent, barometer 30.00 inches, adjusted altitude 2,197 feet.

Martin is straight down the groove with his career quickest pass in his short career. Will Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.955 sec., 330ft-2.491, 660ft-3.681/209.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.696.

Westerfield kept it hooked up to make his fastest pass of the season. Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.958 sec., 330ft-2.461, 660ft-3.629/212.49 mph, 1,000ft-4.622.

Left Lane: Mike Doushgounian Runs 6.365/164.27, Now #4
Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.485/265.22, Now #2

Doushgounian is loose from the start and he pedals it. The car is still loose and over by the centerline before he clicks it off.

Whiteley is straight down the groove with a good clean pass. Jim Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.449, 660ft-3.628/210.50 mph, 1,000ft-4.635.

Left Lane: Hunter Jones Runs 9.083/94.31, Now #6
Right Lane: Chris Marshall Runs 5.452/264.65, Now #1

Jones started to lose traction and then it popped.

Marshall starts the weekend with a good looking pass, straight down the groove. Chris Marshall's incremental times: 60ft-0.917 sec., 330ft-2.421, 660ft-3.600/211.13 mph, 1,000ft-4.603.

Left Lane: Ray Martin Runs 5.580/260.41, Now #6
Right Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.448/268.81, Now #1

Martin kept it hooked up and makes a good clean pass to start the weekend. Ray Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.965 sec., 330ft-2.504, 660ft-3.700/207.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.718.

Whiteley launched hard and kept it hooked up to make her fastest pass this season and goes to the number one spot. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.458, 660ft-3.623/212.83 mph, 1,000ft-4.610.

Left Lane: Ulf Leanders Runs 10.152/99.21, Now #10
Right Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.435/269.24, Now #1

Leanders drives into tire smoke right off the starting line and clicks it off.

Hough With a great looking pass, his quickest and fastest this season to go to the number one spot. Brian Hough's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.453, 660ft-3.614/213.40 mph, 1,000ft-4.600.

Left Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 9.819/94.20, Now #11
Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.448/269.83, Now #2

Bellemeur shook right at the hit and clicks it off.

Gordon kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.465, 660ft-3.627/213.84 mph, 1,000ft-4.614.
