LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Steven Densham Runs 4.129/302.41, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.133/285.59, Was #14

1:46 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 29.87 inches, adjusted altitude 3,342 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

Densham left the line, the car pushed a little to the left, but he was able to stay on the throttle and improve but not enough to move up in the order.

Right Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.948/323.50, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.916/120.40, Was #16

Bode was on a decent pass, then gets about 600 feet out, smoke starts coming from the headers, and the car noses over. Alexander goes down the groove with a full pass and he moves up to the ninth spot for now.

Haddock goes down the groove with a decent pass but he doesn't improve. Diehl put a cylinder out about 500 feet out and the car started moving toward the centerline. He gets close to the line, pedals once, keeps it off the line and makes his quickest pass of the weekend and gets in the field in the 15th spot.

Haddock loses some oil on the run and we will be down for a cleanup.
