Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Angie Smith Runs 12.232/90.87, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.993/192.33, Now #9; Best prior run: 10.123/77.22, Was #15

12:56 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 23 percent, barometer 29.87 inches, adjusted altitude 3,342 feet, track temperature 101 degrees.

Smith is making her first qualifying attempt since she was injured at the race in Saint Louis. She takes it easy down the track and gets the qualifying points. Hall goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up to the ninth spot.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.959/193.57, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.084/193.35, Was #11
Right Lane: Chris Bostick No Time, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.048/188.96, Was #10

Clontz goes down the groove with a decent pass and moves up to the eighth spot for now. Bostick left before the tree was activated, made a move toward the centerline, then backed off of the throttle.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.986/187.86, Now #10; Best prior run: 9.110/96.05, Was #14
Right Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.150/190.46, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.165/188.81, Was #12

Ingwersen is able to stay on the throttle all the way through the run this time and he moves up to the tenth spot. Hale was drifting to the left all the way through the run. he was able to improve a little but dropped a spot as Ingwersen went around him in the order.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.990/191.13, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.938/195.11, Was #7
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.992/187.70, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.982/189.79, Was #9

Oehler makes a decent pass but slows from his quickest attempt yesterday. Johnson makes a solid run but does not improve.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.949/195.11, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.895/196.73, Was #5
Right Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.946/192.49, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.923/195.39, Was #6

Smith makes a clean, straight pass but does not improve. Evaristo makes a decent pass but does not improve.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.891/195.85, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.888/194.69, Was #4
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.957/195.73, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.842/196.53, Was #3

Savoie goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round but he doesn't improve. Arana slows from his earlier attempt.

Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.064 sec., 330ft-2.872, 660ft-4.407/159.53 mph, 1,000ft-5.746.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.100 sec., 330ft-2.935, 660ft-4.476/159.08 mph, 1,000ft-5.814.

Left Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.771/198.23, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.760/199.82, Was #1
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.855/197.88, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.830/198.85, Was #2

Herrera makes an impressive run for the conditions and picks up three more bonus points. Krawiec makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.320/161.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.641.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.078 sec., 330ft-2.877, 660ft-4.399/160.92 mph, 1,000ft-5.723.
