Hight, Salinas, Enders & Herrera Open NHRA Nevada Nationals with Provisional No. 1 Spots

LAS VEGAS - Looking to stay in the Funny Car championship hunt, Robert Hight claimed the provisional No. 1 position at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, making the quickest run in both qualifying sessions on Friday at the 23rd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals.

Mike Salinas (Top Fuel), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also the provisional No. 1 qualifiers at the 20th of 21 races during the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, and the fifth of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Funny Car provisional No. 1 qualifier Robert Hight drove his Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS to a 3.851 second pass at 327.51 mph.

Funny Car veteran Robert Hight took the provisional No. 1 spot at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway thanks to his 3.851-second pass at 327.51 mph. If he stays atop the field, it will mark his sixth No. 1 of the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.

Pro Stock Provisional No. 1 qualifier Erica Enders drove her Johnson's Horsepowered Garage / Melling Performance Camaro to a 6.592 second pass at 208.52 mph.

Reigning Pro Stock champion Erica Enders took her hot rod for a 6.592-second pass at 208.52 mph on Friday the NHRA Nevada Nationals to land in the provisional top spot. If it holds, it will give Enders her sixth No. 1 qualifier of the season.

Pro Stock Motorcycle provisional No. 1 qualifier Gaige Herrera rode his Vance & Hines Mission Foods Suzuki to a 6.760 second pass at 199.82 mph.

Pro Stock Motorcycle star Gaige Herrera set the track E.T. record with 6.760-second pass at 199.82 mph on Friday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to land himself in the provisional No. 1 qualifier spot at the NHRA Nevada Nationals.
