Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Adriano Kayayan Runs 5.991/238.55, Now #1
Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 9.104/110.23, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 29 percent, barometer 29.85 inches, adjusted altitude 3,688 feet.

Kayayan is making his first appearance on the tour since Indy 2022. He is straight down the groove.

Januik started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Ken Quartuccio Runs 5.838/244.56, Now #2
Right Lane: Jordan Lazic Runs 5.830/239.95, Now #1

A couple good clean passes.

Quartuccio is straight down the groove.

Lazic with a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 6.451/169.74, Now #4
Right Lane: Mike Thielen Runs 10.768/81.73, Now #6

Rivenbark started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Thielen made a move toward the wall and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Mason Wright Runs 6.402/233.92, Now #5
Right Lane: Sidnei Frigo Runs 5.982/239.44, Now #3

Wright started to lose traction and pedaled it.

Frigo clicked it off early.

Left Lane: JR Gray Runs 5.816/246.75, Now #1
Right Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 12.774/63.72, Now #10

Gray kept it hooked up all the way down the track to go to the number one spot. JR Gray's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.565, 660ft-3.828/196.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.905.

alBalooshi lost traction and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Dmitry Samorukov Runs 5.810/243.50, Now #1
Right Lane: Stan Shelton Runs 9.371/92.64, Now #10

Samorukov launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Dmitry Samorukov's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.540, 660ft-3.805/194.94 mph, 1,000ft-4.889.

Shelton starts to lose traction and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Kris Thorne Runs 7.262/107.40, Now #12

Bond launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot. Justin Bond's incremental times: 60ft-0.939 sec., 330ft-2.533, 660ft-3.778/196.59 mph, 1,000ft-4.857.

Thorne starts to lose traction and clicks it off.
