Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 23rd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.184/186.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.950/192.17, Now #1

12:18 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 29 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 3,405 feet.

Hale makes a little move to the right at the hit but stays on the throttle. Savoie goes down the groove with a solid run to start the session.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 9.995/73.40, Now #4
Right Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 7.196/152.64, Now #3

Stoffer has problems and is off of the throttle early. Gladstone was on a decent pass but was off of the throttle a little early, not sure why.

Left Lane: John Hall Runs 10.123/77.22, Now #6
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.019/190.92, Now #2

Hall gets about 300 feet out and is off of the throttle, not sure why. Oehler was on a decent pass but was out of power a little early.

Left Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 7.048/188.96, Now #3
Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.084/193.35, Now #4

Bostick drifted to the left early in the run but was able to steer it back into the groove. Clontz makes a full pass but is a little off of the pace.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.030/189.82, Now #3
Right Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 9.110/96.05, Now #8

Johnson makes a decent pass and gets in the third spot for now. ingwersen gets about 400 feet out and it sounded like the bike would not go into the next gear.

Left Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.956/187.96, Now #2

Evaristo makes a good run for the conditions and gets in the second spot for now.

Jianna Evaristo's incremental times: 60ft-1.092 sec., 330ft-2.893, 660ft-4.424/159.14 mph, 1,000ft-5.776.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.942/195.11, Now #2
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.940/196.04, Now #1

A good side-by-side, both down the groove with the quickest passes of the round so far. Smith moves into the top spot, Arana just behind in second, for now.

Hector Arana Jr's incremental times: 60ft-1.107 sec., 330ft-2.929, 660ft-4.458/159.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.795.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.107 sec., 330ft-2.923, 660ft-4.457/159.36 mph, 1,000ft-5.795.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.837/198.29, Now #2
Right Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.806/198.41, Now #1

Herrera goes down the groove with an impressive pass to take the top spot to end this session. Krawiec puts a tenth on the rest of the field but was falling behind all the way through the run.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.071 sec., 330ft-2.862, 660ft-4.381/161.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.706.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.046 sec., 330ft-2.835, 660ft-4.352/161.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.675.
