ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 3 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 38th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals:

This is the first time Whiteley and Smith have faced each other in eliminations.
Whiteley gets out of the gate first but Smith starts making up ground. Smith continues to gain ground but runs out of racetrack. Whiteley hangs on for the holeshot win.
Jim Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.925 sec., 330ft-2.411, 660ft-3.584/211.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.589.

Kyle Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.932 sec., 330ft-2.400, 660ft-3.561/212.81 mph, 1,000ft-4.564.

This is the first time Gordon and Foster have faced each other in eliminations.
Foster leaves the line first but the wheelie bar breaks. The front wheels went high into the air, the body of the car flew off, then the front end of the car slammed down and she rolled to a stop about 600 feet out.
Gordon had problems late in the run and was off of the throttle early.

Whiteley will have lane choice over Gordon in the final round.
