Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #3

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 38th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Richard Gadson No Time, Now #17; No Prior Run

1:32 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 30.15 inches, adjusted altitude 1,183 feet.

Gadson hits the throttle, the bike jumps about two feet and the engine dies.

Right Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 6.991/191.08, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.179/190.94, Was #15

Phillips goes down the groove with a decent pass and he moves up a spot in the order.

Left Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.898/194.70, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.963/192.50, Was #13
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.821/199.13, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.872/197.27, Was #8

Oehler makes his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up to the ninth spot for now. Smith goes down the groove with a good run and he moves up to the sixth spot for now.

Ryan Oehler's incremental times: 60ft-1.092 sec., 330ft-2.889, 660ft-4.406/161.26 mph, 1,000ft-5.745.

Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.096 sec., 330ft-2.875, 660ft-4.377/163.18 mph, 1,000ft-5.693.

Left Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 6.705/201.99, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.914/195.33, Was #11
Right Lane: Cory Reed Runs 43.311/6.03, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.962/193.75, Was #13

Clontz goes down the groove with a career best pass and goes all the way to the second spot.

Kelly Clontz's incremental times: 60ft-1.052 sec., 330ft-2.805, 660ft-4.291/164.99 mph, 1,000ft-5.592.

Reed hits the throttle, gets about 20 feet out and is out of power.

Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 25.165/21.97, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.196/171.80, Was #16
Right Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.867/194.02, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.938/195.47, Was #12

Hale has traction problems at the hit and is off of the throttle early. Ingwersen makes a good, solid run and moves up to the ninth spot for now.

Left Lane: Joey Gladstone Runs 7.163/149.09, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.143/149.34, Was #15

Gladstone was on a good pass but had problems after half track and was off of the throttle. he doesn't improve and stays in the 15th spot.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.828/197.52, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.870/192.34, Was #10
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 6.905/194.08, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.818/194.86, Was #6

Johnson makes his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up to the eighth spot for now. Bostick slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.746/202.70, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.756/201.20, Was #4
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.811/199.85, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.788/198.80, Was #5

Arana makes another good run but he stays in the fourth spot. Hall slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Gaige Herrera Runs 6.627/204.16, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.689/203.41, Was #1
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.737/202.70, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.727/202.35, Was #3

Herrera goes down the groove with a tremendous run, setting the Pro Stock Motorcycle National ET record and running the second fastest MPH in PSM history. Krawiec makes a decent pass but was falling behind all the way through the run.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.021 sec., 330ft-2.766, 660ft-4.238/166.78 mph, 1,000ft-5.526.

Eddie Krawiec's incremental times: 60ft-1.077 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.326/164.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.625.
